Abstract

In this first issue of the journal, we aim to explore the limits and scope of Critical Theory—a field currently characterized by a diverse range of perspectives. For instance, Romero Cuevas defines Critical Theory as a “radical immanent theory,” describing it as “a critical procedure that confronts, questions, and evaluates reality based on parameters—considered valid or normative—that are themselves derived from within that very reality.” Carlos Oliva Mendoza is a translator, writer, and professor of philosophy at the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters of the UNAM, where he serves as a full-time faculty member. His accolades include the Siglo XXI International Narrative Prize, the National Essay Prize, and the National Prize for Young Essayists. He leads the “History of Aesthetics” research project and is a member of the National System of Researchers. Among his major works are *Space and Capital*, *Semiotics and Capital*, *Hermeneutics of the "Relajo" and Other Essays on Contemporary Mexican Philosophy*, and *Hegel: Consciousness, Experience, and Phenomenology*, among others.
