Vol. 15 No. 17 (2026): Epistemology, governance and sustainability: interdisciplinary perspectives for development

This volume of Science and Philosophy brings together a collection of research projects that, from diverse disciplines and methodological approaches, address central issues for regional development, sustainability, and contemporary epistemological reflection. Under the title Epistemology, Governance, and Sustainability: Interdisciplinary Perspectives for Development, this issue offers a space for critical dialogue where the philosophy of science, biotechnology, critical epidemiology, socio-emotional education, and public policy analysis converge.

The volume's thematic diversity is evident in articles that explore topics ranging from the relationship between quantum mechanics and Kantian philosophy—questioning the limits of scientific knowledge—to the sustainable use of Agave cupreata in Guerrero, as well as the crisis of the biomedical paradigm and the need for a political epistemology of health. It also analyzes innovative educational experiences, such as the CUNA program at the Autonomous University of Nuevo León (UANL), which integrates socio-emotional skills as a strategy to reduce school dropout rates. Following the same interdisciplinary approach, this issue examines the evolution of the concept of food sovereignty in Mexican public policy, highlighting its dynamism and its systemic gaps.

This issue not only presents rigorous and original research but also demonstrates the continued relevance of critical thinking as a tool for deconstructing hegemonic discourses and proposing alternatives.
