Food sovereignty and its dynamism in public policies in Mexico: 2019-2025

Abstract

This is a relevant literature review limited to the topic of food sovereignty, based on two procedures. The first consisted of assigning a random algorithm to sort dispersed data into ordered data using four search engines: two global and two regional. A local repository was also included, covering a ten-year period. Once the data was sorted, artificial intelligence was used solely to analyze the iterations in the evolution of the ordered lists of sources. In the second procedure, a network map generated by the VOSviewer technology tool was used to interpret what is called disciplinary consensus. This network map includes publications dedicated to patent development, publications on knowledge validity, high-impact publications, and publications on knowledge retrieval and organization, which define the processes of scientometrics for measuring scientific progress. These two procedures were contrasted to infer that the issue of food sovereignty draws from different perspectives, which throughout its evolution have not only developed their own concepts but have also diversified public policies within an international law framework for conventional political constitutions, as in the case of Mexico. It is concluded that the dynamism of public policies on food sovereignty is reflected in the evolution of the literature over the last decade, while acknowledging gaps in a systematic understanding.
