Call for Papers
Call for Publication
Period: January - July 2026
The journal Ciencia y Filosofía invites the academic, research, and professional community to submit original contributions for its next issue, corresponding to the period January-July 2026. Unpublished manuscripts in Spanish, English, or Portuguese will be accepted, provided they are not under review by another publication.

Thematic Areas
The call for papers is structured around five interrelated thematic areas that address key issues for regional development and knowledge generation in Mexico and Latin America:
Area 1. Epistemology of Science: Quantum Foundations and Dialogue with Philosophy
Submissions will be accepted that explore the relationship between the fundamental concepts of quantum mechanics and the critical philosophical tradition, particularly the encounter between Heisenberg and Kant. Studies addressing the following will be especially valued:
• The limits of scientific knowledge from the perspective of quantum physics
• The nature of physical reality and its epistemological implications
• The dialogue between the exact sciences and the humanities
• Historical and conceptual reviews of the philosophy of science

Theme 2. Governance and Regional Development
Submissions analyzing territorial governance models will be accepted, with particular interest in case studies in Mexico. The topics of interest include:
• Exploratory analyses of state governance models (particularly Nuevo León)
• Collaboration among public institutions, the private sector, and civil society
• Territorial, economic, and environmental management from participatory approaches
• Public policies and regional development

Theme 3. Education, Human Development, and Student Well-being

Submissions will be accepted that address innovative educational strategies for upper secondary and higher education, with an emphasis on:
• Programs for strengthening socio-emotional skills
• Models of academic tutoring and student support
• Impact evaluation of educational programs (such as the CUNA program)
• Student retention, academic performance, and mental health

Theme 4. Pure Sciences, Applied Sciences: Overcoming Duality
Submissions will be accepted that challenge the traditional dichotomy between basic and applied science, demonstrating their integration in contemporary scientific practice. Contributions will be accepted on:
• Case studies on the transfer of scientific and technological knowledge
• Epistemology of applied science
• Relationship between the generation of basic knowledge and its technological translation
• Integrative approaches in interdisciplinary research

Theme 5. Project Communication: Sustainability, Resource Use, and Local Development
Papers will be accepted that examine experiences in the sustainable use of natural resources, with an emphasis on:
• Use of native species (Agave cupreata and others)
• Local production chains and the social economy
• Biodiversity conservation and the generation of economic alternatives
• Case studies in Guerrero and other regions of southern Mexico

Research Article: Original results of empirical or experimental research | 6,000 - 9,000 words
Review Article: Critical and updated synthesis of the literature on a topic | 5,000 - 8,000 words
Scholarly Essays: Well-founded theoretical or epistemological reflections | 4,000 - 6,000 words
Case Studies: Detailed analyses of specific experiences or policies | 5,000 - 7,000 words
Research Notes: Preliminary advances, emerging findings, or methodological reflections | 2,500 - 4,000 words

Line spacing: 1.5
Margins: 2.5 cm (top, bottom, left, right)
Length: According to the type of contribution (see table above)
File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)

Evaluation Criteria
All manuscripts will undergo a rigorous review process Double-blind peer review. Evaluation criteria include:
- Originality and relevance of the topic
- Methodological or theoretical rigor
- Clarity and coherence of the argumentation
- Contribution to the state of knowledge
- Relevance to the thematic areas of the call for papers
- Quality of writing and presentation

  Publication of the digital book: *Bandits in Latin American Literature, History, and Culture*

  Objective:

  To contribute to the study and critical analysis of Latin American literature, history, and culture through the theme of banditry.

  The book will be published under the “Litorales Literarios” imprint (UAGro).

  Submissions will undergo a double-blind peer review process and must meet the following requirements:

  1.- Length: 15 to 20 pages (standard manuscript pages), including bibliography, images, and tables (maximum of three).

  Must be unpublished and original (maximum 20% similarity).

  3.- Author details: name, ORCID, institutional ROR, personal or institutional email, and institutional affiliation.

  4.- Abstract: 250 words (research question, metatheory, hypothesis, method, conclusions).

  Keywords (five to seven).

  4.- Introduction (outlining the research sections and conclusions reached), body (hierarchical organization of sections), conclusions (noting shifts, proliferation, and new avenues for research, if applicable), and references (only those cited in the text).

  5.- Citation style: APA 7th edition; if applicable, a declaration regarding the use of Artificial Intelligence must be included in the Appendices.
